Optimum angle of view - beautiful portraits
The 85 mm Lens from SAMYANG is an ideal focal length, allowing you to focus on the essentials. When the 85/1.8 is attached to an APS-C camera, the angle of view is 18.0°, which corresponds approximately to the image impression of a 135 mm Lens. The lens speed of 1.8 not only provides an extremely bright viewfinder, but also the possibility of cropping through the smallest depth of field. The very compact design provides comfortable handling with a balanced center of gravity.

High-quality optics and mechanics
The Lens offers a close focusing distance of 65 cm. With nine elements arranged in seven groups, the lenses are elaborately designed and deliver high resolution from the center to the edge. The optics include a high-refractive lens element and an ED lens element (extra-low dispersion) which, together with an ultra-multi-coating (UMC), provide effective protection against chromatic aberrations and unnecessary ghost images. The Lens is rich in contrast and is ideal for portraits, close-ups, food and landscape photography as well as for snapshots. In portrait shots, it delivers images with a beautiful sharpness gradient and thus offers the best possible cropping of the subject at open aperture. The iris diaphragm has 9 blades and an almost circular aperture image. The gradient into the blur is reproduced harmoniously with fine bokeh. Everything is rounded off by precise mechanics, clearly locking aperture values and production in a high-quality metal frame.

More fun with manual focusing
Manual Lens offer excellent image quality and wonderfully graduated backgrounds. This makes the Samyang 85mm F1.8 the perfect lens for all photographers who enjoy showing their individuality in their pictures.

Lightweight and compact design
The lens weighs 405 g including lens cap and lens hood and is 80.6 mm long (without lens hood). Nevertheless, it offers the photographer attractive results and unique images with excellent resolution - regardless of the time of day and location.
