The successor to the popular EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM, this lens is compact in design, offers an impressive focal range and is suitable for capturing distant subjects. Featuring the latest cutting-edge optics and autofocus technology, the Lens is an ideal addition to your EOS system for demanding users. The high-performance lens is designed for use on cameras with APS-C or full-frame sensors. In addition, the integrated display provides important lens information in real time.

Based on a completely new optical design, the Lens features an Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) lens for high-contrast, high-resolution images with low distortion and chromatic aberration. The four-stage optical image stabilizer enables razor-sharp and steady shots, which is especially beneficial when using long focal length freehand as well as in conjunction with a longer exposure time. The EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM features Nano USM technology, first introduced in the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM, which offers fast, smooth and precise focusing. Combined with the versatile focal length range, the Lens allows you to capture beautiful portraits and fast action in both stills and video. The Nano USM makes the Lens a recommendation for cineastes. The quiet motor ensures that sound recording remains free of noise as focus smoothly shifts from one point to another during recording.
